the reception

most girls dream of their weddings from the time they are small however, for me it is always something i have wanted to do for others. i never really thought about my own wedding, but what kind of wedding i would plan for someone else.

the lights had to be on for all the detail pictures, but in the dark it was pretty awesome.

when it came down to my turn i had the hardest time choosing anything because of all beautiful picture perfect weddings on pinterest. i knew i always wanted pink. i knew i wanted old and vintagey. so blush pink and gold became the colors.

i am a lover of all things craft, sewing, and diy and knew for me to have everything i had envisioned i would need to make it all myself. challenge accepted. was it hard? absolutely. i had a while to plan, but doing it all myself, going to summer school, and planning a wedding for the middle of the semester proved to be one of the hardest things. i loved all of it though.

i could have chosen a venue and let them do the work, but most did not let you decorate a ton or bring in food and other things. while i never wanted a reception in a church gym, it turned out better than i could have imagined. by the time i was done decorating, it looked better than any venue i have seen.  the compliments received over it made me so incredibly happy for my choice especially when multiple people had said it looked better than any of the receptions hey had been in.

disney played a big inspiration in this as well. there are a lot of disney quotes throughout and a lot of other disney ish things.

i am lucky because a lot of the stuff my mother had in her house so i did not have to buy or rent any furniture because she either made it or restored old furniture from our house growing up. we had a cookie bar with cookie dough i made myself and loving ladies that helped bake them all (oh and my father). we had strawberry, chocolate and regular milk as well.

and of course sparkler send offs are all the rage so of course i had to follow the trend and loved every minute of it.

if you are interested in anything from your event, we are renting most of it out!

we sent guests home with meghan's famous chocolate chip cookies.

yep, i spelled after wrong. so happily ever afer it is.

david and i have always said love you more. it was our "thing"

this "love story" was all the rage on pinterest for wedding and was super easy to make. it had fun facts about us, how we met, our favorite things, and a few other fun facts.

something borrowed and blue... my grandmothers old blue suitcase which held her gorgeous wedding dress inside.

i am obsessed with globes and maps and adventure is our life theme.

i was absolutely obsessed with our cake. our baker did an amazing job. from the ruffles, to the gold tips. it was perfect.

my dad only smiles this big when a grand child is around ;)

this is my favorite picture ever of david's grandpa.

 my best friends are gorgous

my cousin's child called me a princess all night and wanted to twirl and play around my dress and touch it and just be around me the whole night and it was the most precious thing ever.

daddy daughter dance: i bawled the whole time

d's grandpa restores old cars and he provided our getaway car for us. it was perfect.
