One of my favorite bloggers once shared part of her love story on her blog. My sister and I were obsessed with her beautiful story of love and we could not wait to read the next piece as soon as she shared them... but they she stopped and never finished. Well ever since I had read hers I knew one day I would want to share mine so that I can always remember those fun details. Since this blog is my piece of the world to do what I want with, here it is. I am warning you now, it is not really epic, and it's not super dramatic, but it's mine and I love it.
It started in probably July of 2011. I was in Clinton, Mississippi serving an LDS mission. My companion and I had district meeting with two other sets of missionaries each week (known as our district). The District Leader happened to be David. I do not remember much about David, other than the fact that my companion and I helped him write love letters to this girl he was writing. We gave advice, we wanted this girl to be impressed. It was our fun while being away from home. I think he was only the district leader for 6 weeks. I can't even remember. We crossed paths a few times but that was that.
Flash forward to 2012, I got home in October, he got home in June (I think). We became facebook friends and that was that. We had a conversation in messenger that went a little something like this:
Me: Price, what's up? How are you? I see you are going to the U, how do you like it?
D: It's great, I am enjoying it. Life is great.
There were a few more exchanges but that was pretty much all.
Flash forward another maybe 6 months and my sister and I realized we needed another group of friends to hang out with. Most of ours had dropped off the planet in their own marriages and new relationships and so we decided to go through facebook and figure out if there was anyone on there with a potential fun group of friends. David came to mind and I messaged him again inviting him to go to Utah gymnastics....

fly with the utes
The University of Utah has an ongoing promotion with Alaska Airlines where one person before each sporting event gets picked to win an opportunity to win a free flight. The person gets a big airplane and they have to land it on one of 7 circles with different locations written on them. I have seen it won maybe 4 times in the 50+ sporting events attended over the years.
Well...I got lucky and was chosen to attempt to win a trip at one of the gymnastics meets. Of course I did not have high expectations because it seemed almost impossible. But....I won! I did it. I have no idea where I am going to go, but it was definitely a huge highlight of the year that I want to remember. This also serves as my "I love gymnastics post" for the year.

I took over the MUSS snapchat for a night. it was so much fun!

Disney Spring Break
My last spring break as a college student was well spent and the most magical place on earth. Disneyland! We have never been able to go on vacation with David's family because they have always been on an opposite schedule from us, but this year we were able to make it work.

founder's day
Do you know when the University of Utah was founded (without googling it)? I do, February 28, 1850. I am so lucky to be a part of this university. I love it so much and am so grateful for the opportunity to attend. Because I work for the Alumni Association, Founder's Day has become kind of a big deal. There are many events leading up to the big dinner/ celebration and one of the days they had a student lunch where Pat Jones (one of the Alumni Recipients) came and spoke. Normally I don't care too much about guest speakers, but she was incredible. So knowledgable, so humble and I am so grateful to have had the chance to talk to her and learn from her.
Frozen on Ice
I have been dying to go to frozen on ice ever since it was announced over a year ago. If you know me at all you know that I am obsessed with all things Disney and Frozen especially. Well, fast forward to last weekend and I still did not have tickets or have anyone to go with. I debated if it was worth it to go alone or if I should just let myself miss out. Well lucky for me, my niece and sister in law and brother were in town and they were all for going.
It was everything I hoped for and more and wasn't cheesy as Disney on Ice usually is. I would have gone again!

on balance
I think it is safe to say that we are all searching for balance in our lives. Whether we formally call it "balance" or time management or whatever it may be, it seems to be a stress factor in most people's lives. And if it is not...lucky lucky you. Please share your tips with me!
This year, the number one goal/resolution/word of the year for me is balance. Ever since starting my own business (tiny turbans-hair accessories), I have had the worst time management skills. I used to be great at balancing everything I loved, and now, not so much. I am constantly searching for ways to make my time stretch and to be able to do all the things I want to and well after months of searching, I am writing a blog about balance not using my time wisely...that's how well it is going for me ;)
Being a full time student, working 2 jobs, being involved in multiple things on campus and being married sure takes up a lot of time. I knew that my number one priority of course had to be my marriage and making sure that my husband knew he was the most important thing in my life (I am not sure I am always the best at showing it, but I sure try and he is great and always forgives me). So how do I find balance for everything else...well I will let you know when I have found a solution.
